9 Things you Need to Pack for your Next Holiday

Woohoo - holiday time is here! Whether you’re off to the beach, the city or the mountains, you’ll want to be ready for action — not running around to buy the things you forgot at home. With that in mind, here’s our list of packing essentials.

1. Clothes

We’ll let you figure out the specifics on this one, but remember to pack fabrics that travel well. So-called performance fabrics keep your clothing wrinkle-free and are also moisture-wicking, which keeps you dry and comfortable. Don’t forget your hiking boots or water shoes (if needed), as well as a nice hat. And maybe a cute outfit or two for those sightseeing days and evenings out.

2. Travel documents

Depending on where you’re going, you’ll need a passport, visa, driver’s license and proof of health and car insurance. Of course, you’ll also want to change up some money, maybe take your credit cards, any tickets and copies of your itineraries and or reservations. But here’s the critical part: you’ll also want copies of all of the above left at home with a friend or family member. If you lose any of these things, they will be far easier to replace if you have these copies.

3. Sprays and medications

Bug repellent is generally a good idea and sunscreen is a must. Also pack any medications you use on a daily basis and any allergy medication, eye drops or over-the-counter pain medication you might need.

4. Fun stuff

Beach towels, goggles, snorkelling equipment, hiking gear, binoculars — think anything you may need to facilitate the adventures you have planned.

5. Electronics and chargers

You probably won’t forget your phone, but what about your charger, earbuds, headphones, portable speaker (hello, beach time!) or activity tracker? Depending on your plans, you may also want to bring a portable charger.

6. Your instax

If ever there was a time to live in the moment, it’s this. Your instax camera will allow you to capture the fun and share it immediately. Another option? Just pack your smartphone phone and the new mini Link printer. It’s not that much bigger than your phone and will allow you to print hassle-free in about 10 seconds. Either way, make sure to bring extra film.

7. A good read

Life at home is busy. Holiday should be a time to relax a bit — and, for many of us, that means a good book to get stuck into. Whether its to read on the plane, poolside or to unwind in the evening, make sure you pack a good'un!
