Pack your sense of adventure and, of course, your instax, we’re taking you off the beaten track with a virtual instaXmas Road Trip around Australia.
Get ready to explore some of the country’s most beautiful regional destinations, from Torquay to Federal, speaking to the locals and providing you with some ideas for capturing memories with instax!
The first destination on our virtual road trip takes us to the Sunshine State, paying a visit to Queensland’s Toowoomba.
Sisters and founders of local business, Poppy Lane, Bridget and Kylie, share their favourite local gem - Queens Park. Located in the heart of the city, it’s the perfect place to unwind and grab a coffee. And with an instax camera in hand, the park’s botanic gardens are the perfect place to capture some picturesque charm.
It isn’t an Australian road trip (even if it is virtual) without a drive along the Great Ocean Road.
Known for its surf beaches, such as Bells Beach and Jan Juc Beach, Torquay is a seaside town at the east end of the Great Ocean Road. According to This is Incense founder, Sophie Marshall, who calls Torquay home, the town is a truly magical place.
And what better way to capture the tranquillity of the sea swell than with the instax SQ1. The simple and effortless functionality of the instant camera, along with its tones and aesthetic creates the ultimate earthy and natural feel.
Sugarloaf Rock, WA
For our third location, we’re heading off the mainland to Sugarloaf Rock. The giant granite rock, emerging from the Indian Ocean is a must for any Western Australian road trip.
With its ever-changing colour, Sugarloaf Rock is one of the most photographed coastal landforms in the region, and a favourite spot for Perth locals and co-founders of Chimerical, Charissa and Sharnah.
Sometimes capturing the beauty of a spot with a photo just isn’t enough. So, with the instax mini LiPlay Sound Mode, we’re able to capture, print and relive the sounds of the Indian Ocean long after our trip ends.
Located in the sunny hills of Federal, NSW, the next stop on our virtual road trip has us sipping on coffee at family-owned local roastery and espresso bar, Moonshine Coffee Roasters.
Just a short drive from Byron’s main strip, Federal is a quaint little village, the dream for enjoying the sunshine of the Byron Bay Hinterland without the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns.
With winding hinterland roads lined with wildflowers and trees, we’re faced with postcard-perfect shots at every turn. By keeping our instax SQ20 just an arm’s length away, we’re sure not to miss a moment. And with 4x digital zoom, even the smallest details can be captured.
